Galveston residents and other members of the public can learn about the Port of Galveston’s mobility projects and provide feedback during an open house Thursday, Oct. 1, at Cruise Terminal 16, 1602 Harborside Drive.
The public meeting will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m. A presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Port staff will be available at information stations with displays about studies and projects involving traffic management and pedestrian safety. Attendees can ask questions and discuss the port’s work with staff.
Refreshments will be provided, and free parking will be available in the terminal garage.
The open house is part of the Galveston Wharves’ work under its 20-Year Strategic Master Plan. Port Director and CEO Rodger Rees said mobility is a priority as the port grows, with a focus on helping residents, businesses, visitors, cargo transporters and cruise passengers travel safely and efficiently through the area.
The Port of Galveston is located at the entrance to Galveston Bay and the Houston Ship Channel. The 840-acre port includes four cruise terminals and cargo facilities on Galveston Harbor. The port projects 445 sailings and 3.9 million passenger movements in 2026.
The event will give the public an opportunity to review the port’s mobility efforts, ask questions and offer input directly to port staff.
