UTMB Health has earned recognition from Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals 2026. It is the second consecutive year UTMB has received the honor.

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) has been named one of America’s Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals 2026 by Forbes, receiving the recognition for the second consecutive year.

The designation honors organizations that foster supportive workplaces for healthcare employees. Forbes and Statista compiled the list using an independent survey of more than 30,000 U.S. healthcare professionals and more than 1 million employer evaluations collected over three years.

The rankings draw on feedback from healthcare professionals about current and former employers, along with input from others familiar with the organizations evaluated.

“The people of UTMB are the reason for this honor,” said Jochen Reiser, MD, PhD, president of UTMB and CEO of the UTMB Health System. “They come to work each day focused on serving patients, supporting one another, and moving our mission forward. It is gratifying to see those efforts recognized on a national level.”

Wayne Keathley, senior vice president and chief operating officer, said UTMB employees are central to the organization’s mission of advancing health and improving lives.

“As healthcare continues to evolve through rapid change, technological advancement, and rising expectations from the patients and communities we serve, our workforce has consistently risen to meet those challenges with professionalism, compassion, and innovation,” Keathley said.

The recognition highlights organizations that create positive workplace experiences for healthcare professionals and support employee engagement and growth. UTMB said it remains committed to supporting employees as they navigate changes in healthcare and serve patients and communities.
