The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its annual State of Healthcare Summit & Luncheon on Friday, October 23, at the Galveston Island Convention Center.

The event is expanding from a luncheon into a full half-day summit focused on healthcare access, workforce development and community wellness. The schedule will include a breakfast keynote, six breakout sessions and a flagship luncheon panel at noon.

Attendees also will be able to visit a vendor expo throughout the morning. Sponsorships, vendor booths and individual tickets are available through GalvestonChamber.com.

The summit follows the chamber’s 19th Annual Galveston Women’s Conference, which brought together more than 1,000 women for a day centered on inspiration, connection, wellness and more than 100 vendors.

Organizers say the healthcare summit will continue that conversation by addressing how the region can expand access to care and strengthen its healthcare workforce. The event also will examine the effects of delayed routine care and rising healthcare costs on local employers.

The chamber highlighted the importance of building a culture of health among Galveston business leaders, connecting individual well-being with workforce strength, productivity and the local economy.

The State of Healthcare Summit & Luncheon is presented by Shriners Children’s Texas, UTMB and the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce.
