The contractor as well as City of Galveston engineering staff will be in attendance and available for questions.
The South Shore Drainage Project is one of a series of flood risk reduction projects that the City of Galveston plans to implement. In addition, this project will reduce the duration and impacts of street flooding within the project area during sunny day flooding events as well as following large rainfall events helping to preserve emergency access to all of the island’s residents.
This project will upgrade the stormwater system along Bayou Shore Drive, South Shore Drive, Heards Lane, and 59th Street while restoring deteriorated pavement and improving roadway safety. It includes a pump station to mitigate the effects of high tide events on the stormwater collection system.
