The City of Dickinson Fire Marshal’s Office is reminding residents that fireworks are only permitted during specific dates and times, in accordance with the city’s fireworks ordinance. Outside of these designated periods, fireworks are prohibited within city limits.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, fireworks are allowed on New Year’s Eve, December 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (January 1), New Year’s Day, January 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., and Independence Day, July 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. These allowances apply unless a burn ban or other restriction is in effect.
Residents are encouraged to always check for current burn bans and follow all safety guidelines before lighting fireworks. City officials stress that responsible celebrations help protect families, property, and first responders while keeping the community safe during holidays.
